In a week, a workman can work for a maximum of 60 hours, including overtime. However, in a quarter, overtime hours are restricted to 50 hours. An employer cannot engage them for more than 48 hours in a week or 9 hours in a day.
Now, it's up to you. If a worker has worked for 60 hours in a week, that means (60-48) = 12 overtime hours have been used by that worker. So, for the rest of the 2 months and 3 weeks, he can use overtime hours up to a maximum of (50-12) = 38 hours.
I hope this is clear to you.

Mr. Varghese,
Kindly change your reply procedure. You are here to answer the query; instead of doing that, you are telling him to find himself. If he could have done that, then why does he need to post a query? Kindly answer the query. If you can't, then don't tell others what to do. Mr. Sakshan has given a proper reply, seniors like you should learn something from juniors.

Yes, quoting just a section or rules of any act is not advisable or expected. One should briefly respond to the query to the extent they are sure and confident. At present, the restriction is 50 hours per quarter, but in the state of Himachal Pradesh, it is 48 hours according to the rules.
