Dear All,

I am working in the retail sector under the Bombay Shop and Establishment Act in Maharashtra. Recently, a few of our employees were transferred to another branch within the same city in the middle of the month. I have a couple of queries:

1) Where should the salary for that month be processed? (We process payroll on a branch-by-branch basis and not centrally.)

2) Is it necessary to issue a transfer letter for safety and documentation purposes?

Thank you in advance.

1) From where should the salary of that month be processed? (We process payroll branch-wise, not centralized). If payroll is processed branch-wise, then why process the salary from the date of joining in the new branch?

2) Should we issue a transfer letter to be safe in this case? If the transfer is for a longer duration, it's better to issue a transfer letter; else, a deputation letter will serve the purpose.
