Hi All,

I am working as Manager HR with one of the KPOs based in Noida. I need your help and support as I am trying to find ways to get feedback from all the employees about Human Resource functions and policies. Though one-to-one discussion is the easiest way, we all know that no one will state anything negative upfront. Kindly provide suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Piyush,

The best way to gather feedback about HR in any organization is by conducting an Employee Satisfaction Survey. Define a questionnaire based on the parameters you would like to evaluate and then conduct the survey. Post-survey, the ratings against each question will be entered into Excel, and graphs will portray the feedback from employees and the rank of HR in your organization.

Also, keep in mind not to ask for the employee's name/department in the questionnaire, as this may restrict employees from providing honest and positive feedback.

  • It depends on the purpose of your survey. First of all clearly state the objective(s) and then suggestions, if any, can be given.

  • Dear Piyush,

One basic reason for employees not coming forthright on an issue is the lack of information regarding the purpose for which the information is being sought. The second reason is the fear of being named/noticed in case adverse comments are given.

To address this situation, it is desirable to create a questionnaire as suggested by Ankit. The questionnaire should start with a preface explaining the purpose of the survey. Additionally, please indicate at the top of the document that the respondent is not required to mention their name. The questionnaire should include questions directly related to the purpose, as well as any suggestions for improvement. Ensure that the questionnaire is concise, does not touch on the specific issue, and specifies a deadline for return. Offer assistance where needed. It may be necessary to follow up with hesitant employees to ensure a high response rate.
