Hi,
Don\'t worry...
There is no issue about updating our information on job portal..
It is totally about our personal development..
Your management also doing the same..
Even your management don\'t have to ask this quesion to you..
But If they are professional then
there is no any issue of bad impression..
Continue to update the CV.
If your management ask this quesion again they demand for your expectation to them..
If they are ready to full fill it then it better opprtunity for you...
All the Best

Dear Arun,
What is wrong if you upload & update your it on job portal? You could have told plainly that you cannot afford to lose better opportunity. If you don't avail of opportunities then your growth may hamper. Who can afford to do that? There was no need for HR to be that naive & neither you to be apologetic.
Thanks,

Dear Arunthearies,,
The concept of job portals is driven neatly by the undeniable fact that '' candidates may not be looking for the job but, they are always looking at the job''. I hold that one must keep their profiles updates on these portals so that they know how smart their credentials are for the prevailing market arena. The management must learn that it is not an issue of disloyalty by their employees only because they keep updating their respective profiles on job portals. Even if you have tapped to apply for the arch rival of your present employer, you stand no chance of questioning by the management; not as long you follow the ethical trajectories of employment and exit formalities.
Rest relaxed and keep conferring the good efforts in your work meanwhile also try to counsel your HR in this issue.

Imagine walking into your office only to find someone being interviewed for your role. How does it feel?
Well its your HR Team who are in that situation right now. Please empathise and establish with them, the fact that made you join the firm and continue it for so long.
However, to your point being relevant to the industry, yes you do need to put yourself out in the market to measure the competition.
Please remain trustworthy with your firm. Debating the fact that your firm can stop needing your services someday, hence its right for you to venture out, is pointless as nothing of that sort have been communicated to you.
You might move into another role someday , but not right now.
Have you tried the option to block your cv from the range of employers who shouldn't viewing it ?
It was there years back, I am not sure if its still there.
Remain modest and honest. Your HR will continue to be concerned about it till you establish your efforts with performance.
Value them as you would want them to value you even after you leave the firm.
Wish you all the best !

Dear Friend
No need to worry all these things. If they repeatedly asks the same means you can tell a simple reason like every day u r getting notification from Naukri. So meanwhile u just go & access the link thats y Naukri showing like that.
Other ways you can do one thing.... Go to your naukri profile, within that you may find "My Naukri" in a blue bar. In that u will find "Block Companies" . And then type your company name and simply block the company. It may be useful to u. Because normally everyone just block their present company with this option.
So u can simply avoid all these problems

There is nothing wrong. No force on earth can force an employee to work for an organisation ad infinitum ! In fact, you can find the resume of the same HR guy as well, if not in Naukri, may be in Monster or elsewhere. You can say you are at liberty to do it, as it has nothing to do with your assigned responsibilities. What you do, outside the office or working hours, is immaterial to the organisation, since you are responsible for your actions.
Best wishes

Man will come man will go that is the organsation. everyone wants to know the market value based on the view of the cv posted in the job portal. How many peoples have viewed our cv and how many of them responded. This is the true value for the job aspirants or experienced one. So, don't worry. Your HR will know about your skills and knowledge which has not used by them. be bold. never fails.

When someone asked me the question once, I told them that I knew atleast 10 others in the company who had offers from other companies! That put the HR in total discomfort :-)
To be honest, what happened is not good! For if the HR is asking if you are looking for a job, there is a tendency to influence your bosses in saying:
1. You are probably unhappy
2. You might be leaving, hence, reduce the workload
3. Exclude you from strategic engagements as you are possibly looking at other options
If you tell your girlfriend that you are looking at someone else, I am sure she could react in different ways :-). So, despite what the others have said, I don't see this as a good incident.
In any case, be professional and discuss less on this matter. You are there to work and they are tasked with ensuring you work...
