Dear Senior, My query is this: We have appointed a Civil Engineer with a salary of Rs. 15,500/- per month. He is exempted from ESIC but also wants to be exempt from EPF. Is there any provision in the EPF Act? If possible, please provide details.

Thanks,

As far as my knowledge goes, there is no exemption for any employee from PF deduction. However, you may deduct PF up to the maximum ceiling defined in the Act (Rs. 6,500/-). If the employee agrees to work as a freelancer, then only can they be exempt from PF deduction.
