Hello,
I am working in a small company, and our manager wants to review the performances of employees. I am new to the field, so:
1. Can anyone please tell me how to review the weekly performance of employees? All employees are web developers.
2. What are the criteria for the review?
3. How are ratings given? Is it from 1 to 10 points?
4. How do I generate a weekly performance review report? If anyone can, please attach a file or format of the report/sample report.
Please share with me, it's urgent. Thank you.

Hi Vadirajaa,
Before you can review an employee's performance, you must first set benchmarks. To do this, you should meet with each individual and discuss these benchmarks, set goals and targets - these are known as KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). During this discussion, you should also set timelines so that the employee is aware of the next review, which can be as frequent as you wish. The KPIs can consist of anything that you want to measure, such as timekeeping and deadlines, etc. These KPIs should first be agreed upon with management. There are plenty of formats on the net; you should look at some to see which one suits your needs best. Only then can you conduct a fair and accurate review.
I hope the above helps.

Before conducting any review, you need to understand what each team member's tasks are. Then, you need to analyze their roles within the team and assess how well they are fulfilling these roles on a weekly basis.
You can request each team member to send you their status updates. By accumulating these updates and creating an Excel sheet, you can discuss the information with your manager. Seek feedback from your manager on whether they require the same and gather additional inputs from them.

Hi,
Employee reviews are very important to understand where the employee is lacking. Here are some tips to review effectively. First, ensure that you are rewarding your good performers, and secondly, understand your employees' thoughts on their performance as well. Another thing to keep in mind is giving constructive criticism and making sure you are not being too harsh or too idealistic.
