The principal Act was aimed at industrial establishments only, whereas there are state amendments that have put other establishments, i.e., establishments coming under the state's Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, also under the Standing Order Act. If there exists any state amendment, then hospitals will also come under the coverage of the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act.
