Don’t think its a virtue - everyone needs to be able to confidently talk and express his views, needs and assertions.

A well-articulated article, Sir.

I had been a shy child, and though I was quite intelligent, as was mentioned, I had always been ignored. Most people did know that I had been one amongst the top performers, but the interaction was next to nil. Fortunately enough, I realized this at the right time, and my MBA helped me to shift.

Ankita,

Brave of you to acknowledge that. I too have been shy at a point in time and sought to glorify it by believing that those who talk well are empty show-offs while my inability to talk well somehow signified my superhuman intelligence. Thankfully, I met many intelligent people who talked very well too - and realized there is no glory in having an inside of gold but being silent like a boiled egg!
