Dear all,

Can anyone please guide me on the official way to count leaves in this particular case?

For example, we have the weekend off on Sundays, and I have taken leave on Saturday and Monday. How should I count this leave when calculating my salary? According to the rules we are following (and based on my research with other companies), this should be considered as 3 leaves, as the employee has taken leave before and after the week off.

Could someone guide me on where this rule is defined in Acts? I would like to have the correct information for my reference to address any future queries.

This is urgent.

Thank you,
Charmi

Charmi,

Only if your company follows a policy of Sandwich Leaves, your leaves will be considered to be of 3 days. Otherwise, just 2 days (Sunday being an off already). Please check your company's HR policy for this.

Which means the case you have quoted, if you apply for CL, you need to apply for two CL only. The weekly off and festival holiday, if any, is not counted as leave. For other types of leaves, you will have to apply for three leaves. So, check your rules/policy.

It depends on the policy adopted by your company.

Some organizations credit the leave of EL, HPL, or Medical leave, CL & RH every year.

If you are giving CL & RH, then you have to give only 02 days leave (i.e., CL/RH) + 01 W.off.

If you are giving EL & HPL, then you have to give 03 days leave (i.e., EL or HPL/ML).

If the wages is not paid for weekly off then, the prefix and suffix leave alone will be treated as leave. If the wages is for 30 days then w.off also will treated as leave. KA.

Hi,

This case totally depends on the company's leave policy and how they have structured it. Normally, if somebody takes leave before a weekend and after it as well, then the overall leave will be three days, with no benefit received for the weekend. The benefit can only be availed in two cases: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (weekend benefit along with a holiday).

Thanks
