Hello sir/madam,

I am Bhavana, completed MBA (HR-2012). Actually, I am searching for a job, and when I went to attend the interview, they are asking, "What is the actual recruitment process?" As per my knowledge, "It is a process of searching for candidates for employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization." However, they are not satisfied with my answer. They are asking about the process again. Please help me to answer the question.

Dear Friend,

The recruitment process starts from the moment a vacancy is identified or created. For a new vacancy, one needs to conduct a job analysis, which includes job specification and job description. Sometimes, even identifying and setting the basis for the vacancy can be challenging, such as in a newly formed office or a new garment shop determining how many employees should be appointed.

In simple terms, recruitment is a process of ensuring the right person is in the right place, at the right time, and at the right price. It is essential for the performance of the organization and is a critical activity.

You can find more information by simply searching "recruitment" on Wikipedia as it provides more ready-made information.

Dear Friend,

If you are going for an interview in the recruitment sector, then at that time, the process of recruitment is different from others.

For a consultancy, the recruitment process is as follows:

- Communication with External client
- Ask about job vacancy
- Understand the requirement
- Preparation with job description and job specification. (In this step, you need to communicate with your client)
- Job posting on various job portals
- Getting resumes and screening of resumes
- Conduct telephonic/first round of interview with selected candidate (In this interview, you make the candidate aware of your client's requirements, company profile, etc.)
- If the candidate is relevant, then schedule the interview with the client. (First, you need to allocate proper time for the interview from your client)
- After the interview, communicate with both parties (candidate and client)
- Follow-ups from both parties
- If the candidate is selected in the company, then gather various details like Date of Joining (DOJ), salary package, position, probation period, notice period.

This process will continue for all clients.

For any company, the recruitment process entails:

- Identifying the job vacancy requirement
- Approaching top management and discussing the new vacancy
- After approval, prepare job descriptions and job specifications. Here, approval from top management is essential.
- Job posting: job portals, consultancies, newspapers, campus interviews, or any other sources
- Getting resumes and screening them
- Telephonic interviews (in this step, you can conduct a basic interview with the candidate)
- Personal interviews (If the candidate appears relevant in the telephonic interview, proceed with the personal interview)
- Finally, if the candidate is suitable, make them an offer
- After the acceptance of the offer letter, decide the Date of Joining (DOJ)
- Prepare the entire induction program and place the candidate in the right position at the right time.

I hope this information is useful for you!
