I took leaves in notice period because of Grand mother demise, and I went for one week (7 days) now they are not ready to consider the leaves and they want to make as LOP instead of having ELS-10 & CL 2.5. Please help me out

There is no law to the effect that leave cannot be taken during notice period ,except in some standing orders.But Co's are free to consider the leave during notice period as lwp and extend the notice period proportionately.

It lies in company's discretion unless there is any specific provision prohibiting an employee from taking leave during notice period either in the contarct of sevce or servcie rules.However, the object of notice period is to enable th emplyer to find a substitute and to ensure smooth transfer of work to the new incumbent either from within or from outside.That's why an employee is required to be present during notice period. If an employee is allowed to avail/adjust leave agsint or during notice period, the object will be defaeted. However the mangement shall not mind few days of leave under compelling circumstances.
