Hi, my name is Diviya. I want to know If an employee resigns from a company and gives a notice period of 24 days (actually required 30 days as per appointment letter) in how many days time he will get his full & final settlement.
In short I just want to know what is the time period for getting the full and final settlement if resigned by giving complete notice or short notice. Is there any particular rules in general for every company?

Ms Divya,
You have not mentioned whether ur resignation is accepted yet.If it is accepted you would be eligible to get (1) gratuity if qualified (2)unpaid salary and (3) cash value of eligible leave if any in ur credit.Gratuity should be paid within 30 days from the date of termination.

I believe each company has its own policy to disburse the F&F amount.
There are many companies who would hand over the F&F on the last working day (if considerable time to calculate the dues is given) even with a shorter notice period.
There are some companies who would handover the F&F amount post last working day. The time frame can be anything from 1 week to 3 months.
[derived from the employees working in diff firms when asked about their relieving letter and F&F]

First of all thanks for your valuable information.
@ Umakanthanji - Yes, the resignation got accepted but F&F is not disbursed on the last working day.
@ Ankita - As I mentioned before, in the appointment letter notice period is for 30 days only. The information which you have provided is really valid as every company has their own policies. But is there any rules in general?
