Dear Sirs, I am currently working with a company in their Ahmedabad office and am likely to settle down here due to my daughter's education.
I had attaied the age of 58 and as per norms, I am given to understand that I am eligible for Family pension from then on. I turned 58 on 13.10.2011.( My date of birth is 13.10.1953). The requisite papers with all enclosures were sent to Bandra RPFC who in turn sent it to Meerut RPFC on 27th Feb. 2012. I got communication from Meerut office that I should open a joint SB account with my wife either with PNB or with SBI. I opened Sb account with PNB and informed Meerut office and the necessary Photocopies were also sent. All these happened in July 2012. After lot of follow up with Meerut office, I was informed that I should write to them to transfer files relating to my pension to Ahmedabad office which was done in Aug. Since then I have been shuttling between Meerut office and Ahmedabad office. I do not know if there is anything that I have left out. I shall appreciate a few lines by the experts who may kindly throw some light on this.
Thanks.

From your query it is not clear as to how the Meerut RPFC office come into picture.
Since your last employment is in Ahmadabad, from where the contribution was being deducted and deposited. In case you had some employment under the control of Meerut RPFC, in the past, then all the records of EPF to be transferred to Ahmadabad and you will get pension from there only. Please clear the position.

Thanks a ton for this quick response.
I presume, this might have happened because of my permanent address which is in Ghaziabad. There is no other reason I can site now. Incidently, my HO is in Mumbai and all deductions and deposits are being done by them. The one in Ahmedabad is only a Sales office.

Dear Randal
Since you opened your Bank account in Ahmadabad, you will get pension through the RPFC Ahmadabad only without considering any other thing like your residential address etc.
The Meerut RPFC office rightly advised you. From your mail it appears that as per the advice of Meerut office you have already submitted to them for transfer the pension documents to Ahmadabad office.
Now, there is some delay on the part of Meerut office in transferring the same and matter is pending since August, 2012. Considering the working of government department the delay is not MUCH. However, there is a provision to dispose off the all pension matter within one month.
To get the matter expedite you may file a complaint to the Central PF Commissioner, Employees PF Organization, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Bhavishya Nidhi Bhawan, New Delhi.
You may also submit a query Under RTI Act to the Meerut RPFC office for informing you the present status of your case and you should also put a query to inform you day to day progress made by the department in your application.
I am sure if you do that your matter will be expedited by them.

Dear Radnal,
Please correct it that you are eligible for Pension and not for family pension. The family pension is given to your spouse or eligible children on demise of pensioner. In your case, it is Pension and not family pension.

Dear friends,
Since Mr.Radnal is settled in Ahmedabad I think CPFC, Ahmedabad should be in picture, it is right time that all his pension papers should be transferred to Ahmedabad and dealt there itself and it will be easy for him to follow up on daily basis. Mr.Radnal also seriously sort out the Bank problem as Mr.Bt_Gujarat pointed out when all pension payments in Gujarat are dealt only by SBI or Dena Bank. It shouldn't block the process. It's wise thing to open joint A/c. with them in Ahmedabad itself and once & for all clear the way for his PPO to be issued to him and draw the pension as early as possible. In addition to Mr.Chandok's advice there should be Pension Adalat convened at Admedabad regularly itself where his case could be broached to quicken the process.
Good luck Mr.Radnal,
