Whether your project is an open one or you need a certificate from any concern for your project documentation... If you ask me, doing projects in companies is more useful than in a bank as you would have practical exposure.
Regarding the project topic, have you learned financial management and operations research in your course? If so, I can provide you with more topics and some tools that can be used.

Could you please share something about your study and understanding on your specialized subject and you going to work with for Project. Specialization means a subject you are more interested in for study and have good knowledge, have better understanding than other subject. You better express yourself first what you wanna do and where you wanna go
