Dear Sunny,

You could have given basic information about your hospital such as:
a) Number of beds
b) Number of wards
c) Number of doctors on the roll
d) Number of doctors on a visit
e) Total number of floors in your hospital
f) Total number of medical equipment in your hospital
g) What is the capacity of the AC (Air conditioning system)
h) How many DG sets you have
and so on. Without this information, how is it possible to provide any kind of information?

I recommend you visit the nearby hospital and meet HR to obtain the information from them. Initially, you could start by replicating their manpower planning. Later, you can make adjustments as needed.

Well, you have got a lot of constructive inputs!

YOUR QUERY IS MANPOWER PLANNING FOR A HOSPITAL.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS OF DOING MANPOWER PLANNING FOR ANY HOSPITAL IS TO KEEP THE NUMBER OF BEDS AS YOUR BASIS.

WELL, IT IS NOT AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS... IN FACT, MOST ADMINISTRATORS/HR IN HOSPITALS FIND IT CHALLENGING TO DETERMINE THE MOST APPROPRIATE EMPLOYEE-TO-BED RATIO.

HOWEVER, YOU NOW NEED TO HAVE BASIC DETAILS:

NUMBER OF BEDS

(BEDS IN WARDS, ROOMS, TRIAGE, EMERGENCY, ICU, OT'S, ETC.)

TYPE OF HOSPITAL: IS IT A TERTIARY HEALTHCARE CENTER OR A LARGE CORPORATE HOSPITAL?

SERVICE STANDARDS: IS IT A LARGE CORPORATE HOSPITAL PROVIDING 5-STAR LEVEL SERVICE AND INFRASTRUCTURE?

TYPE OF CLIENTELE

THESE WILL BE GUIDING FACTORS.

YOU THEN NEED TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR RESPECTIVE HOD'S.

IMPORTANTLY:

I. NURSING-TO-WORKOUT-BED NURSE RATIO FOR ROOMS, WARDS, HDU, ICU, OT'S, TRIAGE, EMERGENCY...

II. DOCTOR-BED RATIO (HERE I MEAN PAYROLL DOCTORS, NOT VISITING CONSULTANTS. YOU NEED TO ASCERTAIN DOCTOR-BED RATIO WITH ANALYSIS FOR ICU, CCU, NICYU, PICU, OT'S, WARDS, TRIAGE, EMERGENCY... THESE MAINLY INCLUDE RESIDENT DOCTORS, REGISTRARS, SR. REGISTRARS, JR. CONSULTANTS, CONSULTANTS WHO ARE ON THE REGULAR PAYROLL OF THE HOSPITAL.

THEN BASED UPON BEDS, TYPE OF SERVICE, TYPE OF CLIENTELE, REVENUE, YOU NEED TO WORK OUT STAFF RATIOS FOR HOUSEKEEPING, CSSD, F&B SERVICE, OPD, IPD, ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE, ACCOUNTS, GENERAL WORKERS, HR...

Yes, Sonny...

I think the above is the best document to solve your problem. According to this, you have to design the manpower requirements. Also, please confirm how many segments they used to establish such as the medicine ward, ortho, pediatric, etc. from the management. Based on this information, you can analyze the manpower requirements.

Dear Sir,

Greetings.

I am an ISO Consultant from Varanasi. I am looking for legal documents required to start up a 3-star hotel, and which kind of government NOCs and legal documents are mandatory to start such a project. I wish to know, as the same things are required at the time of Certification Audit. Please help me with this, as it is a matter of urgency.
