  • Dear All,

Loading and unloading of material laborers who work on a daily basis, whenever work is available, will call outsiders to assist with the loading and unloading of materials. They charge on a per-ton basis. The question is, are they eligible for ESI if they are not in company roles or under contract? Are there any rules from ESI that state the company has to pay ESI for this type of labor?

    Please help.

    Regards, Praveenswathi
