Dear Friends,

I am an Ex-Army officer and have started my own security agency, providing all kinds of safety and security-related manpower and equipment. My company (pvt ltd) is currently small, but I want to follow all laws and regulations. I currently have only 01 employee, but I now need to hire at least 02-03 more.

For the current employee, I am paying in cash and not maintaining any documents of any kind; the arrangement is entirely verbal. However, with more employees, I want to change this and maintain proper HR processes, documentation, and comply with laws. I don't have enough revenue at the moment to hire an HR executive. Therefore, I will have to manage the HR responsibilities myself, even though I lack sufficient knowledge.

I request all of you to please guide me on how to maintain at least the basic and essential HR processes.

First of all, you have to register your establishment under the Shops and Commercial Establishment Act. Thereafter, when there are 20 or more employees, you have to register under the Contract Labour Act, ESI, PF, etc.
