Dear all,
1. Some one told that if (in a EPC company) the construction site is 10km far away from the city(Pan India) than ESI is not applicable hence there applies the workman compensation act.
I am not aware of this concept Pl help me in this regard that what exactly the rule applies.
2. If in a area ESI is applicable can we opt for the workman compensation act instead of opting the ESIC?
Yours supports in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Dear Amit,
The information you stated is partially correct for point One.
As for the second part,in area where ESIC is applicable, for employees whose gross pay is not out of ESI limit range, its mandatory to register those employees under ESIC.
My suggestion shall be go for the ESIC registration for all those who comes with in the range and additionally extend to all the employees benefits under "Group Insurance Coverage".You may approach any General Insurance co for this scheme.
