(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The information provided in the user reply is incorrect. According to the Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings, and Employments Act, 1975, if a company has more than 20 employees, they are required to deduct Professional Tax. It is mandatory to obtain a Professional Tax registration number in Maharashtra. Deducting Professional Tax is a statutory requirement and non-compliance can lead to penalties.
