Dear All,
Pl. let me know whether a woman employee who is covered under ESI is eligible for Maternity benefit under ESI Act or Maternity Benefit act? And if such woman is covered under ESI Act, then, will she be paid 84 days salary by ESI corporation and wts procedure for that.

Dear Nitu,
In case the Women employee covered under ESI Act, the liability is of ESI for maternity benefit, She will also get the 84 days salary from concerned Local office or from ESI Dispensary and have to inform Local office by obtaining the Leave Intimation slip from the ESI hospitals regular. and then by filling the Form 21 i.e. attendance verification form she can get the payments whatsover rate defined by the ESI, I think that is 70% of the daily wages.
