Greetings Sir/Madam,
I\'am a final year MBA student with dual specialization in the field of HR and IT. My major paper is HR and i\'am interested in pursuing LAW after my completion of MBA. Please suggest me what should I take up in Law as i\'am also planning to get my Ph.D in HR along with starting up my own business firm.

Dear Akashmika,
I am perplexed. My sincere suggestion is concentrate on one. Starting a business needs a lot of effort and time. Doing law I can understand but why a PhD, which takes anything from 3 to 5 years to complete depending upon the mode?
Please read some material on Personal Balanced Scorecard by Dr. Hubert Rampersad.
Wish you all the best.

Sir,
Business can wait...but not my career plans. Being a girl the time to come will be undoubtedly difficult and if it happens that I will be forced to obey others desire then still I'll have an option to bargain over them. PhD will be an accomplishment for me, its a habit of mine to complete what I've started.

Gals can never do what they wish.....it should be allowed by everyone, after huge explanations and recursive FAQs. Anyways, will try and follow my dreams. Thanks for your response.

Hah...you hv a gr8 mindset to do a lot of things in a shortest time period...gr8....did u plan your career graph (education)...if no then do it now...time consuming in achieving those will tell you how to go about it. Law is good thing....if you are in Bhubaneswar,Odisha..contact Utkal University and they will guide you for the course on Law..n about PhD...it is better u do it from the same institution from where u hv done MBA (if u r doing PhD on any topics related to MBA), if the institution does not have the option then best will be Utkal University or KIIT, where you will get at least some good guidance to accomplish your desire.

Before taking admission to PhD, get in touch with the students who are doing it, so that you will be able to know about the GUIDEs, who are good and worthy. This homework is necessary.

Again ask yourself "acquiring so much qualification is necessary or sacrificing yourself for others desire".

Sit quietly, plan, then convince your folks about your plan. Try to make them understand where you will be after 5 - 10 years from now.

Lastly change your mindset from "Gals can never do what they wish".....they can, but they don't put it properly, Hope my suggestion will help you, if not then do let me know, so that I can change/upgrade myself, which also help me in counselling more n more people having this problem. Tnx, Arminta
