Respected Seniors,
Happy New Year To All Of You.
I want to know one thing i.e., if we appoint a retired defence personnel in our organization, and we fix his/her basic salary below Rs. 6,500/-. Then, in this case, Is that employee is eligible of EPF Scheme..?? Can we deduct and file his contribution as usual as other employees..??
Plz. give direction to me, its urgent.
Thanx in advance.

Since he became an employee within the definition of Sec.2 (f) of the P.F Act, and his basic salary is Rs . 6500/- on the date of his joining, he is eligible for P.F deduction.

Dear Bhuvan
The PF is only saving and it secure the future of his family as he / his family gets Pension out of it, in case of any untoward incident.
Instead of thinking whether an employee is eligible or not, please deduct for everyone. It will secure the future of the employee and his family.
Wish you all the best.

Respected Sir,
Thanx for your this suggestion, and I am also in favor of the same. Actually, I have joined a new organization, and there we have a contractor for security services, I don't won't to disclose its name here. We have engaged them for security services. They have employed ex-services men in their organization. They are charging complete 12%+13.61% contribution of EPF from us, but pays the 12% directly to the employee. I called their representative for discussion about this. He told me that, they are ex-employees and they are already taking pension from government. So, they are not eligible for EPF Scheme. But I told him that as per EPF Act, they are also "Employees" and eligible for all facilities as other employees. This talk is in progress with them. But, I want more views and suggestion from seniors like you, that's why I have put this in discussion here.
