Dear Vishnu,

I can understand your plight. But there are always people around to help. For you, it may be difficult to find a suitable topic now. However, if guided, you will find thousands of safety topics untouched. There is a vast field around safety. Remember, under the sky, there is no topic without a safety concern.

I am listing a few which may be a little revolutionary for you. I do not advise you to pick up any from the list. In case you need, I may be able to add a thousand more. But it is you who has to pick up the one most suitable to your thinking and caliber. It requires some effort to complete a good project work. It is also easy just to copy somebody's project report and satisfy the course requirement. I will only advise you to take that effort and do it yourself.

- Psychological and physiological aspects of accident prevention.
- Use and abuse of personal protective equipment.
- Criminal offenses behind confined space fatalities.
- Inadequacy of statutory systems in India and the increasing number of industrial accidents.
- To integrate Safety Education in Indian Technical Training Curriculum.
- Working safely around concrete.
- Meeting the Challenges of Safety Management in Construction Works.
- Dangers of construction equipment and remedies.
- Role of ergonomics in Industrial safety today.
- A study on accidents from Cave-Ins in India.
- Occupational Diseases in Indian Industries.
- Questionable Industrial Accident Investigation reports - a hindrance to progress in industrial safety.
- Hygiene and Indian Industries.
- Why is the Indian Government blind to Construction safety?
- Government's Role is to declare compensation for construction fatalities - not to prevent accidents.
- Indian Accident statistics.

Good luck,

Regards, Kesava Pillai

Dear Vishnu,

Others have given you some sound advice. So, I will raise some questions first and then give some pointers.

Where are you doing the course and in which mode? Please tell me which topic or field was not new when you started studying? When I started my post-grad diploma in management, all the topics were new as I had an engineering degree. When I started the engineering degree after my BSc, all the topics were new.

Have you studied Research Methodology as a subject in your course? If not, kindly see my post on that subject at CiteHR. If you have, then you should have come across the concept of the "Funnell Approach." It is used to narrow down a topic in a field, for example, Industrial Safety. The way to choose a topic is to decide what you feel passionate about in that field, where you can get access to do primary research, what interests the organization, or what is needed by them, the time and other resources you have at your disposal, etc.

The best way to decide on a shortlist of topics is to search, access, and read scholarly articles/reports. To set you on the course, here is a link found at Google.

Have a nice day.
