am doing a project on performance management system in the hospitality industry and would really appreciate some help in understanding what are the key issues regarding performance appraisals and performance management, what kind of appraisals are generally used at different levels - balanced score card, behavioural based ratings etc are forced rankings used (to fit people in bell curves) and what is done to retain key performers if promotions can't be made etc.
