Also I have another query regarding the continuation of account.
My friend was working in my previous company for 4 years. He resigned the job after getting an offer abroad. He did not claim his PF amount till date. Can he be able to claim his PF amount now / can hetransfer the amount to new PF account ?

1. First transfer your previous account to the new service. If you quit the present job, you may apply for scheme certificate till the age of 58 years. Abbas.P.S

Dear Dinesh
It is not necessary that you should serve a single firm for 10 years, but your provident fund account with the Employees Provident Funds Orgsniation, must be contributed for 10 years, then you are eligble for pension scheme.

Dear DineshKumar,
Yes You are eligible for pension after 2 years of contribution to EPS.
If your friend is still in aboard and having a operative bank account in his name in India he can claim his accumulations through claim forms.
If he has returned back to India from aboard , and joined in a new company, still he can transfer his earlier PF accumulation to the new account through Form !3.

Dear Mondon,
Under EPS (Employees Pension Scheme 1995) a minimum of 10 years contribution is required to eligible for pension.
All the ten years of contributions need not be in a single industry/Institutions. He may served in several units but only requirement is he had his contributions transfered from one unit to another through Form 13 and accumulated in the present/last employer's code.
In the above case Mr.Dinesh has served for 8 years in Bangalore before switched over to Hyderabad, hence he is required to contribute 2 more years for an eligibility to pension.
Hope it is clear.

Dear Dinesh Ji,
I have not exactly followed what you want to say about "Am I eligible for pension scheme after 2yrs of service in my present job if the account is transfered to A. P. region" . You need not wait for two years for transfer of your previous Bengaluru PF & pension account to AP region. You are eligible for admission to PF from day one in any employment. Only you have to nofity the present employer about your previous PF account and get it transferred to the present EPFO office.
As regards your second query, I have to say that your friend may claim his previous dues now. Only he would not get interest on his accumulations from 01-04-2011 onwards. He will get interest upto 31-03-2011, not for period thereafter. If your friend has returned to India and is in job at present in India, tell him to ask for transfer of his previous account to the new office. If he is still abroad, let him apply for final payment of PF dues and lose pension contributions. Regards
