hi,
I am vaibhav Sharma working with a finance firm. I did my PGDBM in HR and Marketing in march 2007. I want to pursue higher studies in HR. I have also written some research based articles on Balanced Scorecard in indian organizations. I came to know that one cant pursue PHD after PGDBM. it's possible after MBA degree from any university.
I have confirmed from AIMA that they offer doctoral programs after pgdbm but it requires work experience of 5 years. Currently i am working as a senior relationship manager which comes under marketing. as soon as possible i want to shift myself to HR. kindly guide me if there is a way out to do doctoral program after pgdbm in HR. In case its not available, what other options are there?????
regards,
vaibhav sharma

Dear Mr.Sharmaji
Indian universities are crazy as regards recognition for PGDBM courses. They call it as post graduate but does not recognise it for Ph.D. They insist on MBA degree. If that is the case why at all they conduct PGD.. courses. They go by rule book and masters degree in the subject is required and PGDBM is not equivalent to Masters which in my opinion is totally incorrect. I too have done PGDFM and wanted to do in Management and they did not agree.
AIMA is a private institution and the fee will be high. It is better to register with an University and do it. You can try at Bharathidasan University at Trichy for the program
Can you let me know about yourself so that we can discuss. In this forum people dont reveal their identity and it is difficult to renew the relationships further. This looks more as an opportunistic approach rather than to develop a long term friendship
