Dear HR folks, I joined one IT company as a HR executive on September I am paid 5k per month, in the offer letter they mentioned after confirmation I will be paid 10k per month. I have completed 6 months now, but they are telling that " We have confirmed your position, but we will pay you only 5 k for the next 3 months". Its sure We will raise your salary during the appraisal. What should I do now? I have a commitment period of 18 months, if I resign in between they will not provide me the relieving letter. How should I proceed this? Can I resign the job and search for new one or else can I ask for the rights to the management? Please help me out. I am under deep frustration.

Dear Vijay,
Thanks for your valuable suggestion. Whether this will affect my career? They are supposed to send a confirmation email by April 22nd, 2011. I haven't received the email still now. I am waiting for the confirmation mail. I have reminded my supervisor three times, no response from his side too. Since I have a commitment period of 18 months, if I switch my job now, they will not provide proper relieving letter to me. How can I tackle this one?

Dear Balachandar,
I would suggest pls go through your contract or offer letter once again and figure out the point mentioned regarding your probation period. In my knowledge probation period meant for confirmation only not for any increment unless something special you have done for the organization. this may your first job pls check are you learning HR stuffs or not if you are learning pls spend at least 9 months minimum. This is minimum period to know your origination and your capabilities for that firm. Still if you are not goring and have some good option pls switch over to other organization.
Sincerely,
Radhey

Dear Balachandar,
As you were told by your HR personnel, wait for next 3 months and see if your salary is not increased, then notify your reporting manager about the terms for which you and our company have agreed to. If you don't get your salary increased as your were told, then try for another job which suits to you. Meanwhile learn about the HR process and gain knowledge. If you have knowledge related to your subject along with experience, you will find many jobs very easy.

Dear,
I understand your concern, my empathy is with you.
See, when they have promised you that they will give you hike after 6 months which actual became a false statement. think logically, again how can you trust them that they shall give you hike after another 3 months of work...
I suggest you to go for the second option ( Another company ) First of all update your resume in portal and in your resume do mention your FACT's of looking out for change, this might help employers to understand your current situation and those employer only contact to you who is comfort with your term's and condition's.
Then start attending interview's and even in telephonic or in person (F2F) interview, kindly clear each and every thing to the interviewer respect to relieving letter.
Suppose if you can produce current salary slips then this could be advantage for you.
If every thing goes well then put down your paper in your current organization and as far my knowledge resource has to serve 15 days notice period in probation period.
Note:
quit the current company only keeping another company offer in hand..
I am not saying that what i am saying is perfect but if i would be at your place then i would do the same what i written here.

Hi Bala,
I agree with Siraj.
But be careful that in next negotiation, to make things crystal clear. There are hidden contracts too. It is not always necessary that the promises they provide during the interview will be done, especially the verbal. Also ask them when is the next appraisal period, so you will also be prepared accordingly.
