Hi,
I have been appearing for interview in a big MNC from last month, i.e. Feb 2011. I have completed 5 rounds and is waiting for my result for the 5th round. It's been 4 days that I have appeared for my last round of interview.
I have also wrote a mail to the HR asking him on my status. But he has not replied. Why do the HR does not let the candidate know what her status when he/she is asking.
I know I can be selected or thrown out. Either way, I just wanted to know their opinion. But they did not reply.

Hi Deboleena,
I duly agree with both the replies. Moreover, if HR has to let all the candidates (who are not selected) to know the reasons/ status etc, they will land up in doing that only.
Remember, against each selection, on an average there are 15 rejections! And a recrutiment exectuive might be handling might be handling 50 positions at a time, for which s/he has to coordinate with candidates from various parts of the country, if not the world.
Further HR is accountable and answerable to the employer not to the candidates! But yes, as a courtsey, we try to keep the candidates posted as much as possible.

They are arrogant and they must have selected their friends the rest other interviews are just hoax, dont waste your time, look for some other company where the HR is more responsible, thank god you did not join this co where theHR does not even have courtesy to reply, even a 10 pass child knows courtesy but HR dont know,

Dear dead soul,
Right quote for other associate. What is mean by selection/... it is out of pool of applications and subsequent process.i.e it is selection of best out of available resource and moreover one has to follow certained standards. i do agree that few companie's selection process is too tuff, but should not be desparately wait for that position.

Dear Deboleena,
Mr. Das has replied rightly. HR is answerable to employer and not to candidate and they too are dependent on concerned person's decision on selection. Your anxiety is understood. But at the outset, I feel it's best to look for other opportunity and keep your head cool. If it turns out positive, well and good if it doesn't, nothing is lost. You learn from every experience. Instead of giving extreme reactions, one has to focus on his objective and keep moving.
Best wishes.

I think HR is not the person who select employee for the office. Concern department head is involved in selecting the candidate. HR is not arrogant because at the same time they handle both the employer and the candidate.
It is right dont depend on any company you search for more..........

It is not the fault of HR Department.HR only coordinates the interview.He/She is not the Final selector.
t is the concerned department head who has to select or reject the candidate.HR people are just facilators
, not selectors. They can select only for their own department only.
