Hello jayagopaldhinesh,

Before thinking of how to impress the recruiter, first decide for YOURSELF the actual reasons for this choice of career. The combination of BE with MBA-HR is actually not very common--relative to other combinations.

You should be clear on the reasons for any step in your career, before you can attempt to convince others--recruiter or friends or anyone else.

In general, if you aim to satisfy others without applying your mind to the 'why' of your actions, you are sure to land into trouble sooner than later--since no one can predict the others' minds/thoughts.

The same logic applies to your second query--suppose I tell you to say this: the toughest decision I took was when I was about to be murdered, I got away by deciding to move out of my home at the nick of time--thanks to HIM. Will you be able to use it with conviction at all? So pl don't look @ situations as something to please others--JUST BE YOURSELF. Except that maybe you need to put things across subtly or in different ways depending on the circumstances--with the content projecting you AS YOU ARE.

Some amount of self-introspection is always good for everyone--more as you face life's challenges.

All the Best.

Agree with TS... you are responsible for your decisions.

The reason why the recruiter is asking you these questions is to ascertain :-
a) your attitude towards life, career
b) your thinking / convincing ability

If you are convinced on your choice of career, you would 'radiate' the same ... Just make sure reasoning is positive. No body would like negative characters around them :)

Do not work towards impressing a recruiter... rather project yourself in a way that the recruiter starts respecting you and would try and 'sell you the chair', he/she has....

Tough decision in life question-
This question tests your ethics, beliefs and decision making abilities. Make sure you "sell" your answer and really make the
case for specifically why the decision you had to make was a difficult one. Use an example from you career – not from your personal life.
Your example may involve a decision to leave a job, a decision to expose a coworker who was dishonest, or a decision to change your career in a significant way or any other thing of your choice.

Mr Jayagopal The answer is very simple MBA means - Master of Bad Acts !! Regards K.Ramachandra Bangalore

TS and SSkalra have given you sound advice. Just think why interviewers ask such questions? I think they ask for two reasons.
2. They would like to assess how good is a candidate in reflecting on his own actions. That is, how good one is learning from ones own experience (Kolb's learning Cycle).
Any advice given by us to you what to say will be useless as the answer, if repeated by you, will only show up your deficiencies.
Have a nice day.

I must say, this is the most silly question put in an interview. I mean its just like asking after all the 2 years education, if you are asking why have you educated yourself. I have also faced such question and felt really bad and demotivated to continue with the interview.

Dear All
Ignore my earlier answer - it was just a joke !
why not take such questions as a constructive criticism or it is also an opportunity to introspect as to why you took and answer.
1. As the course abreviation itself says, MBA means, it is Master of Business Administration. Let it be any course.
It is to become master in that particular area.
Say that and be proud of your answer !

Why MBA HR bcoz frankly telling MBA is all about managing and the most difficult thing to manage in a company are human being and their unpredictible nature so HR tells us the art of managing them and getting the work done by them.
