Hi all,
I need some advice. I am currently working in HR, in a more administrative like role, shuffling of papers and generating reports etc.
I am not satisfied with what I am doing and don't know how to proceed. What can i do to make my role more interesting?
I am a part of a large organization. Do all large companies have the same problem of routine work or is it just me??
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Its just that its quite frustrating being in this position, and i feel like I'm not learning much. That makes me wonder if its just my company or its the same elsewhere. If its my company, maybe i should switch.....and so on

Hi Siddiq,
I’ve recently completed my education and have been hired as HR Officer. Same was the problem with me. I was doing the routine job and Admin work. But just after few months my boss recognized my potential and start giving me some more managerial task. So be patient and don’t think of leaving the company. Just prove yourself by doing the tasks efficiently no matter whatever the task is assigned to you.
Hope you will soon find the task for which you are looking.

Dear Siddiq,
The problem you face is mostly encountered in large organizations across every department.
If you view the work as routine, you will get bored and seek change. Even after switching to another organization, you will feel the same.
Therefore, do your work happily, succeed, learn new things, and understand all statutory compliances and the skill matrix of your organization.
If you are tasked with generating reports, follow instructions and also consider creating additional reports that are necessary for the organization.
1. Analyze reports such as attrition and attrition in specific departments, identify problems, and provide a report to your supervisor.
2. Review personal files to ensure all documents are present. If any documents are missing from employees, initiate the collection process. Obtain duplicate copies of appraisal letters and appointment letters.
3. Review the employee attendance report and identify employees with frequent absenteeism. Report these findings to your supervisor.
Gradually express your interest to your supervisor in engaging in employee activities, statutory compliance, or recruitment.
Remember:
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you."
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Dear Sadiq, the points of Shenbagarajan are very important. In the same way, I made my image better...
1. Analyze the reports such as attrition, attrition in a particular department, identify the problem, and give a report to your reporting boss.
2. Check the personal files to ensure all the documents are present. If anything has not been collected from employees, initiate the process. Collect the duplicate copy of the appraisal letter and appointment letter.
3. Look for the employee attendance report and identify employees with frequent absenteeism. Report this to your boss.
