Dear All,
I received a minimum wage circular from our site. I am confused about dearness allowance as mentioned in the circular. Industries covered under the Factories Act revised DA for the period of 1.07.10 to 19.07.10 is 1394, and DA for the period 20.07.10 to 31.12.10 is 561.75.
What exactly does this mean? Can anyone explain?

Dear Patil,
Please also refer to the old and revised basic salary. The DA is high because the basic is low. Now the basic has increased, and hence the DA is low. The Maharashtra government will slowly do the same for all 'scheduled employment' over a period of time. This time they have done so in the case of 'residual factories', 'bakeries', 'plastic industry', etc.
What is important is that the new basic+DA is much more than the old basic+DA.
