Since the ID proof is issued by India Post, which is a Central Government organization, it is similar to other ID cards like a Driving license, Voter's ID, etc. It can be used for opening bank accounts, for getting telephone and gas connections, etc.

Can you please specify on which locations this is applicable because I am trying to apply for the same in Delhi but come to know it has not been started in Delhi. So, I request that while posting these articles, kindly mention the location also so there is no confusion.
