Dear Friend, The Minimum Wages Act 1948 You must be aware the Objective of the Act " An act to provide for fixing minimum wages in certain employments" The Act has been amended by following states for local application : 1.Andra Pradesh 2.Assam 3.Bihar 4.Gujarat 5.Karnatka 6.Kerala 7.Madhaya Pradesh 8.Maharastra 9.Rajasthan 10.Tamil Nadu 11.Uttar Pardesh 12.West Bengal Practical application : 1.You can collect the Minimum Wages Ntification from concern Labour Department of the State. 2.In case your apprpriate Government is Central Government you can coolect frm the Reginal Labur Commissiner(C) /ALC (C)/LEO (C) 3. In compliance to the provision under Contact labur Act you have to notify the same with intimation to the Labur Authority . 4.Compare the rates of both Central and State Notification and ensure the payment to workers the higher one.
