Exit formalities is something were in the associate concerned needs to get the clearences from different depts applicable to him, exit formalities will depend more upon the bussiness of the company, But its manadatory that you need to have an exit interview keeping in view different parameters,
before i go further I would like to know which type of industry are you working for.

Hi,
The Exit formality would be in two part:
--Clearance form: To get a clear check from respective dept. as clearance for settlement
--Exit interview form: A set of questionnaire to gather information from the departing employee about his/her exp. with the company & specific cause for leaving.

It can comprise of 3 parts.
1)checklist of Company owned assets or informations
2)no dues from relevant department & clearance from Accounts department
3)Prepare questionnaire - reasons for leaving like..
- when was the first time you thought of leaving the Company
-What are the factors you think are most appropriate for the Company to retain you
-what is the best thing thing and the least thing you liked about the Company
-etc...

Dear all,
Exit interview/Exit formalities can be covered like No dues from different departments like IT, Finance, HR, submission of Identity and Laptop if applicable and also he/she has get approval from the line manager before he approach all these processes.
After getting the approval from line manager he/she should undergo the Exit interview with the HR.
Exit interview can be done to find out the Employee Satisfaction in his job
The Following areas can be covered in Exit interview process.
1.His Satisfaction with the job and should be find out wether his job is challenging or not
2. Does his manager cooperates him in doing work efficiently?
3. Does he aware of the job responsibilities?
4. Is he satisfied with the salary he is paid?
These are the aspects can be covered as per my knowledge
