Sir,
My query is in relation to the captioned subject-matter. w.r.t. IW, could you let me know that whether a person of Indian origin(PIO) deployed to work in India be considered as an expatriate/IW or would he be treated as an Indian employee for the purpose of social security scheme?

Dear Friend,
It depends on the country in which the employee is being deputed, if India has signed any agreement on social security with that country then only the employee may get the benefits of the same.

An international worker is one who holds a passport issued by a foreign country. An OCI and PIO will hold a passport other than Indian passport and hence he shall be treated as International Worker for coverage of EPF.
