Dear Kumudha Babu,
Optimizing human resources is a quite broad area of HR. While working on broad areas, I found many HR professionals unable to do the following:
a) Ability to write a charge sheet, warning letter correctly. Ability to frame the terms of references when the enquiry is conducted (why HR professionals are unable to do this because they cannot download anything from Google. These issues are absolutely case-specific).
b) Ability to understand the workplace issues and design the training needs. Design objectives of the training programs without copying from anywhere.
c) Understand why there are mistakes while processing the payrolls.
There are scores of issues. What I have given is quite basic. I may sound a little old-fashioned. But the challenge is today's HR professionals are smart in all respects except the basics.
If you develop good drafting skills, this in itself is an achievement. Not many HR professionals are good at drafting.
