Dear All,
We are informing Employment Exchanges about vacancies. In response, we also receive a list of candidates. However, candidates are not being called for selection as they do not meet our requirements.
In this regard, we have received a letter from EE asking us to provide them with the results of the vacancy, the mode of recruitment, the reason for not calling candidates, etc.
My question is, are employers obligated to respond to them under the EE Act regarding the status of the vacancy and candidates, etc.?
Kindly reply.

It is mandatory for an employer to furnish or notify the Employment Exchange of the details of vacancies as per the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959. However, according to section 4(4) of the said Act, the employer has no obligation to recruit candidates sent from the employment exchanges.
