In a love marriage, a guy and a girl themselves make a decision and marry (having relationships before marriage as well). In Indian tradition, parents and elders usually decide on marriage. Therefore, if there are any issues with couples, they try to solve them. In the case of a love marriage, most parents and elders do not approve of it. I'm not agree with this. It depends on the understanding between the couples. Generally, we say love marriages are not successful as both of them, but if you talk about arranged marriages, you can find the same ratio. Even if it is less, the only reason would be the wife remains quiet in most of the situations or not expressing herself.
What I believe is love marriages are more successful if you give enough time to each other, know each other, and then go ahead with your decision to get married only if you feel this is the right match for you. Also, it should be with the consent of your parents... don't forget them :-)

First, if any marriage is not successful, it means that's not a love marriage at all. That's called MAPA (Marriage after Physical Attraction). Do love words have different meanings for each relationship? My mom loves me, which is a different kind of love, and a girl loves me with a different meaning. Why is this so? Love is a single word, and the meaning is also the same for each relationship, but we really don't know the meaning of love marriage. Both arranged and love marriages can be successful if there is mutual understanding. We cannot guarantee that arranged marriages will be successful. The problem is not the type of marriage but the main issue is the lack of understanding. After marriage, people feel as if they are in bondage and they feel like they have to abide by all the rules. If we realize marriage as a commitment to our life partner and not as bondage, then we will feel freer to discuss all the differences.
Another issue that I think exists in both arranged and love marriages is the lack of coordination between the two partners. Every human being in this world is different, and even if you want to change yourself according to your partner's will, it will take some time. So, we should have patience and help our mate change those habits, but we should not expect a 100 percent drastic behavioral change.
The biggest problem with love marriage is about the over-expectations. Before marriage, lovers meet for a few hours and then part ways. Obviously, during those few hours, they will have all those loving and romantic chats. But when they get married, everything changes. After marriage, you cannot expect the same person to always be available day and night for romantic chats. After all, life is not only about romance. After marriage, there are many responsibilities for both partners.
The problem with arranged marriage is, again, about expectations. We cannot know the nature of a particular person without knowing them closely. Every boy and girl wants their spouse to be very romantic, understanding, loving, caring, responsible, smart, and intelligent.
