Hi, I work as an HR Executive in an Architectural Firm. The firm will be celebrating its 10th year of inception this week. I have been asked to organize events to celebrate the occasion. Please suggest some ideas regarding what kind of activities I can plan for that day.

This is a great occasion to celebrate. As it is a memorable event, it's better to plan for some mementos for each and every employee. Organize some sports and games and plan some gifts for winners. Organize a family meet and invite all the family members of employees for dinner.

Identify some in-house talent, organize events like small skits, singing songs, and monologues, or organize a musical night through external professionals. Obtain inputs from all HODs about the high performers and plan some excellence awards as part of appreciation. Arrange to issue the awards on the dais through the Chairman/MD/CEO.

Identify good speakers within and ask them to share their experiences in the organization. Plan more activities for employees' children and spouses so that they feel the involvement and pride of the organization. Plan to invite your customers for the program and dinner. Ensure some of your customers talk about the organization and its services.

If possible, convince the people and facilitate your Chief (CMD/MD/CEO). This should be a surprise and kept very confidential up to the last minute as he is the person who is taking care of all of you, and this is the time for you to express your gratitude.

Plan some small gifts like pen sets, pencils, lunch boxes, school bags, or toys for all the children who participated in the event.
