Dear All,

I am doing my summer project in a SME on Training Need Analysis. The orgn is 20 yrs old and the organisational structure is not as per latest developments. The company is into spray painting. It is a manufacturing company.

now to identify training needs the usual norms are through Performance Appraisals, job descriptions or passed training needs identified etc...

Now this being an old-fashioned company, Performance appraisals dont happen and The JDs arent well-defined. What they say are just the minimal educational qualification.

so i decided to write the Job Descriptions and find Training Needs at the same time. Attached are the 2 questionnaires that id be using:
1. HOD Questionnaire - to be filled by HODs
2. Individual Questionnaire - to be filled by individuals in each department.

The following will is my schedule

Week 1,2 - Preliminary Research and Preparation of Questionnaire
Week 3,4 - One on One interaction with HODs and few employees per department
Week 4,5 - Collection of Questionnaires
Week 5,6 - Preparation of Job Descriptions
Week 6,7 - Preparation of TNA and TRaining Calendar
Week 7 - Report and presentation to management.

I have 3 queries
1. Am i going right??
2. Pls view the questionnaires and assess whether any changes have to be made to customise it for an engineering firm.
3. Can someone give me sample Job Descriptions and Job Specifications.

all suggestions would greatly be appreciated..

Thanks & Regards,
Divya Naidu
