Hi all,
"WHEN YOU ARE INSPIRED BY SOME GREAT PURPOSE, SOME EXTRAORDINARY PROJECT, ALL YOUR THOUGHTS BREAK THEIR BOUNDS. YOUR MIND TRANSCENDS LIMITATIONS, YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS EXPANDS IN EVERY DIRECTION, AND YOU FIND YOURSELF IN A NEW, GREAT AND WONDERFUL WORLD. DORMANT FORCES, FACULTIES AND TALENTS COME ALIVE, AND YOU DISCOVER YOURSELF TO BE A GREATER PERSON BY FAR THAN YOU EVER DREAMT YOURSELF TO BE ."
By: MAHARISHI PATHANJALI in Yoga Sutra (500 B.C)
WHen I read this I got curious, is there any way we can utilise this quote by Maharishi Pathanjali in Learning or Training.
DO share your views, I surely would like to hear from all of you in this regard.
May this way I can make my teachers happy and proud.
What say??

Hi!
what the maharishi said is the universal truth of life expressed in words. most of the fundamental theories, school of thought and practices are based on such similar universal truth and already being used in learning, teaching and training in one form or the other.
Trainings like work-life balance, stress management and SQ/EQ/HQ/IQ are all based on these fundamentals only and a perfect fit in todays work & life situations. These packages (picked up and converted from ancient era fundamentals) r selling like a hot cake these days.
want to add more but later... as i hv to rush ....

Hi Parichay,
Thanks a lot for the suggestion, I have read that book already.
But I raised this question as I wanted all of us to share our thoughts in open and discuss it further. Many HR babies can be helped through these kinda discussion.
Hope to have your views on this.
Cheers

Hello Prof. Lakshman,
It is so nice of you to share your views on this.
I really want this forum to be the world's best, for a selfish reason i.e. I want HR to be equally taken in to consideration for more higher posts in an organisation, which is still not there.
I want people to think creatively how different quotes can be utilised in HR, or in our companies.
Thanks a lot for adding your valuable inputs to my post.
Hi ALok,
THank you for sharing your views, I would surely like to hear more from you on this topic. But make sure you do come back to this post and add something more for our knowledge.

Hi Rishi, HR freshers are known as HR babies. Generally this term is used for people who are studying HR or who are new in the profession. Cheers Archna

Hi aanchal and HR Colleagues
Mentioning HR Babies as ones who are in the Learning Process .
When does the Learning stop Or is it that after adding years to one's experience in the CV , one stops learning.
Learning is a continual process.
If that is the case then I will love to be called a HR baby and continue to be called so after decades.
These are my personal views.
Although I firmly believe that the connotation with which the word "Baby" is used here is derogatory.
If that is the case, then the oldest man in India should be the president.
Just adding years to one's experience, doesn't make him/her learned.
After all the most learned man also has passed through college
This is completely off the topic but i felt like airing my views.

Hi Rishi,
I agree to your point that LEARNID is a continual process nd we all till our end in a evolving cycle of  LEARN_UNLEARN_RELEARN!!
The term waz juz used to denote the identity of a HR fresher..I hv juz enterd dis HR world, pursuing my MBA HR..So thought dis z the first step of mine.So before running the race,a person has to learn to first balance and learn how to walk, thn only HE can run..nd these r my BABY steps to run the HR pioneer race..
I hope u got my point. :D

HI Archana,

Thats a really profound topic to discuss. We as humans have the ability of countless intelligence and innovation, we just don't explore it. Some techniques suggested by Prof are very useful.

Would like to share my experience on this, when I have something that needs mind application, I take time out, sit on the issue for some time and make an effort to get new perspective to the same issue. Out of the box thinking is not like a click, its not necessary for you to be struck by ideas, you need to cultivate your minds to do it. We are very pron to being in our comfort zones and take the well proven roads to do things.

A little risk taking should be developed.
