Hi all,

I am here to request your help in finding a solution to my problem. We are a newly started recruiting firm in the IT division. We have been attempting to develop our database by reaching out to various institutions for their past years' student lists. Unfortunately, we have encountered difficulties as no one is willing to provide us with the list due to our status as a new organization. They are asking for the client companies' list and the number of candidates we have placed so far. Additionally, we do not have accounts on any portals due to financial constraints.

What steps should we take to develop our database? Furthermore, the client companies are hesitant to engage with us due to the same financial issues. What should we do?

Kindly assist us. We have already established the firm, but we are currently at a standstill.

Hi there,

You could probably start an account on social networking sites like Orkut, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc., and try to headhunt through these platforms. Nowadays, at least 7% of recruitments are conducted via social networking sites. I recommend giving these a try.

Hi,

Although the free job sites and taking references will help, job sites and references alone cannot take your company anywhere soon. The best option for you now would be to tie up with a growing consulting firm, where you can get business and database access. Even if you are currently working for someone else, you can make good money if you can negotiate. Recruitment experience will help a lot. For more details and opportunities, please email me at manas@wengerwatson.com.

Good luck, keep going, we need a lot of entrepreneurs.

Hi Ramya,

We had tried that one. We posted in all forums, but nobody is responding. So we thought of sending scraps to all. But there is no provision to send it to all members at once. Have you done anything like this before?

Dear Senthil, Kkesav, Anilguptaji,

Thank you very much for the portals. I will surely check with these portals.

You can buy postings from Naukri or Monster. Naukri job postings will be active for a month, and you will receive a lot of resumes. Monster and Jobs ahead postings will be available for 2 months. I think if you post once, you will receive more than 500 resumes, allowing you to build a database. Additionally, one posting on Naukri costs only 843/- rupees.

ALL THE BEST.

Haritha

Hi,

I will be starting a recruitment company in the financial services/consulting/analytics sector this month. I have created a database and will be setting up the portal login. I have the contact details of the talent acquisition teams in targeted companies. However, I am unsure about the legal processes involved and what documents are required. Can you please provide me with a list of required documents and detail the process?

Register with some portal as this is very necessary, then visit small companies first. Ask them for a job position. Work for one position for free and get a contract where, in return, they will offer you 2-3 new positions.

Hi Tomanju Rejeesh,

I am an MBA by qualification with specialization in Human Resource Management and have about 14-plus years of post-qualification experience. I am an Accredited MBTI Qualified Practitioner and a DISC Certified Behavioral Analyst, which makes me a licensed practitioner for administering Psychometric Assessment Tools.

Training is my passion, and I possess proven expertise right from the identification of Training Needs (TNI / TNA), Design and development of training modules, content development, delivery of training modules, evaluating the ROI of training, etc.

I am a corporate trainer and an entrepreneur - I currently manage a private limited training company that is focused on training corporates and colleges on communication Skills and Soft skills / Behavioral skills. All training modules that we deliver consist of Pre-Training Assessment, followed by training delivery and Post-Training Assessment.

We are the ONLY Certified Training Partners for MERITTRAC - India's Largest Skills Assessment Company.

We do Campus Recruitment Training Programs (CRT) for engineering, MBA, and MCA colleges. We have a network of more than 35 colleges and have a talent pool of almost 8000 freshers.

We have a team of 35 trainers, who are all professionally certified and have been delivering workshops for a number of corporates in IT / BPO / Manufacturing, retail, and other industries as well. We base our sessions on experiential learning and use DISC / MBTI as a tool for ensuring the effectiveness of the training and also to ensure that the contents of the workshop are properly aligned with the learning objectives.

We have delivered training workshops for companies on a wide variety of areas including and not limited to the following:

- Team Building
- Leadership / Motivation
- Conflict Management

- Communication Skills (LSRW)
- Etiquette: Email, Telephone, Business, Dining, Social, etc.

For colleges, we deliver training on the Aptitude Written Tests (Quantitative, Reasoning - Analytical, logical, critical, Verbal ability), Group Discussions, HR interviews, and Resume preparation.

We are looking for Recruitment / Placement Agencies who are working with clients who need fresh BE / BTech / MBA and MCA candidates for entry-level recruitments. We can source as many candidates as you need and though we currently have a network of 35 colleges spread across Andhra Pradesh, we can add more and increase the talent pool available if you need.

Alternatively, if you have a network of colleges where we can offer our Campus Recruitment Training Modules, we would be happy to associate with you for taking it forward.

So, if you see the possibility of synergy between us, let me know.

Hi,

I understand your problem in building clients. I think the best solution would be to approach known people/associations whom you have a good rapport with. Ask them to suggest or refer any good persons to help you. From there, you can make a good start.

You can also contact your friend who might be working as recruiters, and they can log in to the portals in their company. Ask them to download the resumes of the candidates based on their skills from one year and create a database out of it.

Hi,

To brief you on this, we have a TimesJobs portal with 4 login licenses. Presently, we are using only two logins, and the other two are not in use. We have decided to lease these logins on a sharing basis where one can hire the login on a monthly basis.

The cost per month would be Rs. 5000/- for each login license, which includes nationwide database access and unlimited job posting facilities. Payment should be made in advance to use the service. Payment shall be payable only via DD. *Terms and conditions apply.

Interested individuals can email to getcontractors@gmail.com.

Hi Tomanjurejeesh,

Few things you have to do are:
1. Take a Job Portal for a month or for a 3-month basis in order to build your database. The best are Naukri and Monster sites. Also, look for other sites that provide you with more IT employee profiles.
2. For building new clients, prepare a good brochure for your company and request a presentation about your company services. Also, ask them to provide sample requirements to work. If you prove yourself in the sample requirements, then the client will continue with the recruitment process with you. You need to build that confidence level strongly.
3. When recruiting recruiters, ensure they are well-exposed to recruitment concepts, processes, technologies, etc. This will make your internal recruiters provide more value and confidence to your company in terms of achieving success with the client's requirements.

If you have any queries, please contact me.

Regards,
Murali Krishna
