Hello Everyone
I am stuck in a situation in my present company.I have completed over a year here now and was acting as a PMO but we lost our project and as off now co has no new project where they can ssign me .I have spoken to the RCM team to put me in core HR process or sap but got no response Now i have a very good offer in hand which requires me to join immediately but i have a 2 months notice which this co is ready to buy back and i am not sure whether my present employer would release me or not .After we lost the project have not done any good work in this co and feel very frustrated since i feel am doing injustice to my profile.I need your suggestion on this.What step should i take now.Awaiting your response

What I can understand from your post is - you want to change co. because you are not learning enough (as you are not doing anything).
Also, you have offer from a company, which is ready to buy back your two months notice period. You are not sure whether the present company will relieve you or not...
The company should relieve you without much ado. Or else, you can demand your choice for profile.
Dont think much, resign and pay out the notice period, join the other company. Dont think much. One year is sufficient for first change in career. When you get exposed to different things, you will learn more. Go ahead...

I agree with you but i am only skeptical to the fact that if i resign and they dont release me immediately what will i do as i have seen them frocing people to serve 2 months notice.This is the first time i am facing such a sitution in my whole career.

The decisive factor will be the contents of your terms and conditions of employment with your present employer and any other service rules there that might have bound with certain stipulations.

Unless these details are known it is difficult to firm up your line of action.

Having said that, if there is no bond of committed employment and no adverse provisions in the above documents, you may simply resign and leave and send the cheque after you get releiving letter or whatever. It is too much of a bother for an organization to proceed against you legally.

You do not seem to have any major issues with your present employer except that presently they do not have worthwhile for you to do and that seems to be the primary reason behind you wanting to leave this employment.

Under the circumstance, either your present employers offer you a worthwhile assignment or to let you go and not hold anything against you. Have you considered a possibility of talking to the company this concern of your's before actually leaving? If you do that,refrain from even mentioning the possibility that you may leve employment. Just discuss your professional predicament and depending upon the quality of their response, you take a decison and quit subject to above observations!

I have not signed any bond with the company.Also i have spoekn to rcm Hr and to MY project manager about role change but for 1 and half year got no response for role change i have received from any of the department.Now since the project is winding up by september i have absolutely no work to do which is why i started looking for new options

Also i need to make sure that they release me in a organized manner and provide me releving and expereince letter only then i question of buy out arises as i have seen them compleling SE and SSE to serve 2 months notice period.

You yourself is giving the answer which you have to give to your mgt for justifying your immediate relieving. I don't think that in your case they will create some problem. So Go ahead. good luck

I know the prons and cons of this situation but as i understand nobody has a right to blame a company which shows that a person is not Loyal to the organization.I cant staright away go n tell them of you dont give me work so i am leaving.This is absolutely wrong.I am looking forward for a way to resolve this issue rather making it more complicated

As you said, it is not right to leave a company, because you dont have work.

I think you need to consider a few things over here.

Do you want to stay with the current organization?
IS the management planning to give you some other responsibility after the project is over?
If there is no plan to give you another responsibilty, is the company ready to bear your cost and keep you in the organization and think the same way as you are thinking.
If the company asks you to leave, will you have this job offer in hand at that point of time.

I suggest you make a deceision first after pondering on all the above points. ( I am saying this because your posts suggeest me that you have not yet decided, whether you want to quit the compay or not and if you quit, how should you take it to the management, so that the exit is a smooth one)

If you think you should move on, dicsuss with the management on the same points and you will get your answer and also a way to come out of the organization with respect.

This is my suggestion and in case i am wrong, i stand corrected.

First of all, u relax. Dont take tension, the way suggestions are posted & ur reply to them, looks like a thriller story...
Its a good thought that u dont want to create any issues... what u can do is speak to ur line managers about forth coming projects & see u can wait for them to come...
if not then tell ur line manager that u want to create a career & want to move on in life... u've the oppurtunity in ur hand... I'm sure ur line manager would understand ur commitment towards to work...
