Hi Gauri,
Nice post. I am very keen to work on income taxes and exemptions but have very little knowledge about it as I never got the opportunity to work on these issues.
Can you please help me out in preparing Form 16 for the staff? We have 14 staff members with a salary range of 8,000 to 35,000.
How should I design their package components to reduce the tax burden? Please inform me about the maximum exemption one can avail on various components of salary, like the maximum exemption on conveyance being 800 p.m.
I am aware of the tax slabs for male, female, and senior citizens. What are tax exemptions, and how can we utilize them to reduce our taxes?
Your prompt response to this matter would be highly appreciated.

Hi Gauri,
I am impressed by the way you have simplified the taxation calculation process. I have some queries. Could you please provide me with your email address so that I can send you my query related to taxation and inquire about the amount of savings we can reflect in our earnings?
Thanks

Just deduct your HRA, which is entitled to you, and PF, i.e., 12% of your basic for the year 2008-2009, from your CTC. If there are any medical allowances, then deduct them from your CTC. After deducting all these from your CTC, you will get your CTC under tax. Then subtract 180,000 from the CTC under tax. You will get the amount on which you have to pay 10% tax. But I am thinking you are not liable to pay tax.
Have a nice day.
