Dear JUGBIR,
Under the Section 6 in the Amendment is given " All wages shall be paid in current coin or currency notes or by cheque or by crediting the wages in the bank account of the employee" .
Here my doubt is you are mentioned in your message is "the wages only by cheque or by crediting the wages in his bank account."
From my understanding even now we can avail the wages by cash also, is it correct or not please reply me.

Dear sir,
According to amended provisions under Payment of wages Act 2017,and also as laid down under ID Act(Central) as well as under Min. wages Act, wages payment , modes etc everything falls entirely in the ambit of State Govt.and State govt. has been bestowed authority and power through a well organized machinery to administer , execute plan of payments and interfere in matters related to dues payment .
Some states including Uttaranchal has notified that wages shall be paid by cheque or through Bank transfer but other state Govts. including Govt. of UP has not issued any such notification as to how payment will be made. So ,establishments in absence of any such notification from respective States can still continue paying in cash or as they find convenient through other modes.
