Therefore, you need to contact the authority what number of working hours as been considered for 5 days working. Accordingly you need to set the policies for the company from 6 days working to 5 days working.

Subject to making it known what type of establishment you are discussing here. Generally, It's obvious, the reduction in working days in a week has to be compensated for increased working hours in a 5 days working hours set up.The underlying fact is without reduction in aggregate working hours in a week 5 days a week system has to be implemented. Only option available is to correspondingly increase the working hours in those 5 days. You have to work 8+hours (8/5=1.6 hrs) on all 5 days. There's no other way. Honestly, No one would advise to bear the additional cost of manpower for the resultant addl.hours in the form of OT wages (payable if OT work is resorted to) as a compensation beyond 8 hours in a shift when you chose to switch over to 5 days a week. You cannot have the cake and eat it too.
