What is model standing order? What is its relevance here?

Model Standing Order refers to a 'model' of standing order on the basis of which an establishment covered by the Industrial Establishments (Standing Orders) Act can prepare its standing orders. Yes, the model given in the Act will be applied to an establishment for the time being and within 6 months of its coverage under the Act the establishment should get its draft standing orders certified by the appropriate authority.

Standing Order will be applicable only to employees on the rolls of the establishment. It shall not apply to employees of other establishments working in the establishment. If the Contractor himself is an establishment coming under the purview of Standing Order Act and has framed his own standing orders, he can put it as the objective of employing workers.
