Hi Sanjay,
In ths period of Recession i can only suggest you
1. Hold for new recruitment
2. manage to control on overhead expenses of last 6 months and target to reduce those like electricity, water, canteen, hurticulture, housekeeping and other misuse things.
3. Study the major expenses other than Salaries and implement the new policy without effecting to the production and employee benefits.
4. You may cut the extra working time and 5 days working. It may save for financial crisis.
5. You have to take new advantage for small expensive projects with help of teamleader.
Overall, there is no solution to cut the manpower because the financial crisis is for sometime and you will loose the skilled manpower as assets of the company. It depends upon business .It may very from company to company like export unit, they may take strong necessary action.
6. Involve the employees ( suggestions ) on cost control, educate to be united for this situation.
