I have few queries on Employee Compensation Act. Please help in clarifying it:
1) Which kind of establishments are covered under the Act? Are establishments covered by shop and establishment also applicable under this Act?
2) Which employees are eligible under this act? Are managers eligible under this act? Which section or rule?

Employees compensation act is the provision to cover an employee under insurance scheme where esic facilities are not availble or can not be extended to employees
It is applicable to the employees of All such establishments which are not covered under the esic.
Employees compensation act does not have any direct relevance to shops &establishment.

Employees working in shops & establishment are covered and are entitled to compensation under the Employees Compensation Act. Any employee can seek compensation including manager. If ESI act is applicable then one has to seek benefits under ESI and he is not entitled to claim under compensation act.
