Dear Nidhi Sahni
This has reference to your querry regarding KRA & performance appraisal.
Please note that the individual employee should be aware and clearly identified his KRA and from KRA he has to derive KPA( say if an employee as multiple KRA, then it has to be bifurcated 4 or 5 KPAs which are smart ( specific, measureable, achievable, reasonable and time bound) and employee has to mention on each KPA, how much percentage can he achieved in the given time frame ( i.e. during the performance period. On the basis, his performance has to be appraised.
Short fall if any in achieving his KPA, then analysis of his competency to be mapped up. These are very lengthy process and continuous process

Hi,
The major two analysis are
KRA-Key result areas
KPA-key performance areas
Every organization has to look with the performance of the employees time to time. They have different rating scales and the processes.
The performance evaluation differs with different different companies.Few evaluate weekly also.
But the performance appraisal process is carried out for six months or for a year with any organization.
Basically there are tradition and modern methods of the PA but majorl the companies do the 360 degree appraisals and self appraisals.Any way it is done the supervisor must give his opinion to the concerned department.
